Aromatherapy

What Is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is a holistic healing method that relies on the use of essential oils. For over 6,000 years, essential oils – concentrated extracts from the leaves, seeds, roots, or plant blossoms – have been used therapeutically. Aromatherapy can be traced back to the ancient Indian, Chinese, Egyptian, Roman, and Greek cultures. Essential oils were used in perfumes, cosmetics, and drugs, as well as for hygienic, ritualistic, spiritual, and therapeutic purposes by these people.

How Does Aromatherapy Work?

Aromatherapy is not completely understood by researchers. Some scientists believe our sense of smell may be involved. Others believe that essential oil molecules may interact with enzymes or hormones in the blood. Aromatherapy massage is a great way to experience essential oils because it allows you to benefit from both theories at the same time by breathing in, smelling, and absorbing the oils through your skin. Whatever the case, one thing is certain: they DO WORK. There are numerous success stories throughout history of how Aromatherapy and Essential Oils have had a profound impact on people's lives.
